Are calibration planks required?
Vinyl Products
Yes, one full-length calibration plank is required. A calibration plank helps us ensure a perfect fit for your stair nosing during fabrication.
Laminate Products
Yes, three full-length calibration planks are required. We encounter more issues while calibrating laminate products, so we ask for at least 3 additional planks.
Note: You will not be charged for the calibration plank(s). We cannot process your order without the calibration plank(s).
Will the stair nose cover the entire step?
No — Finished Edge stair nosings (made from your flooring planks) will cover approximately 6 inches of your stair tread. You’ll need an additional plank to click into the stair nose to create a seamless finish. Please see our installation guide or YouTube channel for details & instructions.
Should I cut off my stair treads before installation?
Vinyl Products
No, you should not cut off the stair treads. One of the benefits of our stair nosings is that they are specifically designed to wrap around the existing stair treads, saving you time on your installation.
Laminate Products
If the nosing can’t wrap around, boxing the tread might be necessary. Laminate products have a standard outside dimension of approximately 2”, and the thickness of the flooring will dictate the inside measurement. Laminate nosings are strong enough to handle weight without tread support.

What are the stair nose dimensions?
Vinyl Products
Our nosings are a universal fit, made exclusively with the interior measurements of 3/4″ and 1-9/16″.
Laminate Products
Laminate nosings are made 2″ thick outside dimension and will fit over a 1 1/8″ stair tread with up to a 10mm flooring thickness.
The maximum length for our nosings is restricted by the length of the plank flooring provided for fabrication. 60 inches is the maximum length we will ship out-of-state.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Out of State
Once the material is received, we will need 2-3 business days to process it. When the order is ready, we will ship it out and send you an email notification with tracking numbers. It will then take another 2-5 business days to arrive, depending on your location.
Local Orders
Once the material is received, we will need 2-3 business days to process it. When the order is ready, we will deliver the next business day. For will-call orders, we will call you when the order is ready for pickup.
Larger orders may require longer lead times.
Will the stair nosings work on the top step and the landings?
Yes. Because our nosing is made out of the actual material, they match up perfectly on top steps and landings. Watch our installation video for directions.
